Kepro receives referrals electronically from MDCPS and initiates a case within our proprietary system. We act upon the referral and schedule interviews with those who know the youth best to gather the required assessment information. Initial level of care assessments must occur within thirty (30) days of the youth being admitted into the facility. We collect sufficient information during our assessment/interviews to complete the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and make a recommendation regarding the most appropriate level of care for the youth. Once completed we compile all information into a written report that is delivered to MDCPS case workers for review and consideration when interacting with the courts. If the youth is still in placement after six (6) months, we will perform another assessment to determine the most appropriate level of care at that time.
